The advent of the Information Highway is revolutionary in that it has been
an effective conduit for sharing and disbursing information and knowledge.
It has opened multiple doors of opportunities for new media artists such as
myself to express and organize information in versatile and creative ways.
As an artist, and a New Media major, I am empowered to infuse life into
inanimate objects. The ability to create and express myself not only through
hand drawn sketches but also through the latest emerging technologies and
software is an evocative challenge. As a New Media Artist, my vision is to use
my artistic and technical skills to organize content not only in an aesthetically
pleasing way but also in such manner that effectively conveys the message.
The electrical visual arts allow me to structure a design without sacrificing
artistry. As an artist, I have the ability to design an environment so that it
mimics reality; in this way the audience can connect with the message being
relayed. I feel that it is important to create a sense of connection between art
and its viewers. If I am able to find and bring forth that connection, I would be
satisfied and accomplished as an artist.
